Estate Management Foreword
Estate Management will take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of all its employees. Estate Management also recognises its responsibilities in respect to persons other than its own employees as well as the environment. High standards of health and safety performance are recognised as an integral part of quality service delivery
and Estate Management is committed to achieving this goal.
This Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Assessment Handbook has been produced to provide relevant Health and Safety information about the products / chemicals we use on a regular basis within the Estates Management Department.
Only those products listed within this booklet should be used by departmental staff. Where additional substances are to be used, these will first need to be assessed and
included within this assessment handbook.
We understand that from time to time, additional substances for a particular job may be required, however, the use of such substances will not be permitted until it has been assessed any control measures communicated to the relevant staff having need to use the substance. In the event that additional substances for use are required please speak to Maria McShane or Paul Bradford (Estates Safety and Training).
